Last week, while visiting with family in Pico Rivera, CA, I went grocery shopping at Fresh and Easy. I grabbed a few items from their soy section and mentioned to a manager that it would be nice if they carried “Vegenaise”, the best vegan alternative to mayonaise I’ve found.
The manager suggested that I make the suggestion on their site or through their toll free number. I never got around to doing that but when I walked into Fresh and Easy today, there was the Vegenaise sitting in the soy section :D. I was so impressed I requested to speak to a manager to personally thank them.
I’d made this same request at other grocery stores and most of them said they did not carry it and that I should try a health food store. Based on my previous experience, I was not expecting for Fresh and Easy to stock the item I’ve been looking for without a formal request to their Head Quarters.
The corporate culture at Fresh and Easy is what inspires brand loyalty and promotion of those brands in my generation (GenY). We know how the economy works and (at least the people I learned business from) have a motto “if you don’t like it go somewhere else”. Other corporations should take note from Fresh and Easy, I’ll definitely be going there more often. Oh and great job on the gluten free section, you definitely know who your customers are.
